Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We traveled from Nashville to our I-130/I-485 interview, roughly 4-5 months after filing our application. It was a quick process for us, even though our attorney failed to show up at our interview. We waited in the lobby of the Memphis office roughly 10-15 minutes before a kind gentleman came out and introduced himself. As we walked from the lobby into his office, we had small chat about other facets of life. When we sat down, he pulled out a huge file and tossed it onto the desk, making quite the thump. It was our file. We looked at each other for a moment, then he stated "look at what you made me review last night." Not sure where we were going with us, he immediately added "you guys are fine, you are approved....I just wanted to bring you in to chat." Our continued discussion more so related to what I did for a living, and our desire to the outdoor life. It was an extremely comfortable experience for us -- even though I know we were rather lucky to know the decision was made before... read complete review

-K1 visa
-Adjustment of Status filed March 2022
-Interview Scheduled for July 2022

My wife and I showed up to the office about 30 minutes early. The interview was scheduled for 11:45am. Processed through security to get into the main office. Went to the window and gave the lady our appointment letter. She was very nice, asked us to wait for our interview.

The USCIS officer called my wife's name at 11:49am. We went to her office and she had our file. She was very nice, and pretty talkative. She asked several personal questions, all of which were reasonable for the interview.

Her next set of questions were standard questions about criminal things, terrorism, intentions in the US, etc.

Finally, she said "I'm going to go ahead and approve your green card." She went over a few small things, and that was it.

We asked her where is a good place to eat since we're in town. She recommended a really grea... read complete review

Our interview was actually in Nashville, TN., but that was not an option from the drop down.

In the interview, we were sworn in and then they went through our 485 application to verify the information with us. My wife was asked all of the yes/no questions at the end of the application about breaking the law, terrorist activities, etc.

After that the agent went over the documents to verify our relationship: bank records, marriage license, joint accounts, etc.

We were then told that if they needed anything else they would let us know, otherwise we should have the green card in a couple weeks.
